Getting To Know Oneself… SIMPLY!

Q&A 5 Year Journal

How many times have you heard the saying, “hindsight is twenty twenty”… Or have been told, “you should keep a journal”… Or thought to yourself, “I’m gonna start a diary (tomorrow, lol)…

As I get older and try to navigate through life, these cliché phrases have been brought to my attention many times… And although they sound good and I often responded with good intentions, life always seem to help me procrastinate… Life gets busy —> THE bills, THE work, THE to-do list, the demands of others that we are responsible for, the demands of those we are not responsible for but somehow find time for even when we don’t have time for ourselves… “Let’s face it” – by the time we get to ourselves – “we’re tired”… So it gets put off… “Weeelll” maybe I shouldn’t speak in “we”… I will speak for myself… But if you can relate at all – I wanted to share my recent discovery…

I recently bought this journal titled, Q&A a day, A 5 Year Journal, published by Potter Style.. It has become a tiny little step for some “me” time everyday. It is great because it is simple, easy, and does not take a lot of time (3-5 minutes a day for me), AND the benefits are fun and introspective…

Here’s how the journal explains how to use it:

This journal was created to help you make a time capsule of the next five years of your life in the simplest way possible. You can start at any point in the year. Simply turn to today’s date and take a few moments to answer the question at the top of the page (or don’t answer it; this is your journal). When you finish the year, move on to the next section. As the years go by, you’ll notice how your answers evolve.

I started this journal just a few days ago… It’s simple and doesn’t take much time… I am learning things about myself and I am really enjoying it :)
